Hi Thank you for visiting my Homepage. My name is Aaron
Conole, and I am a computer geek...somewhat. I decided to actually put
a website up because after a moment of sheer craziness, I
released the
still unfinished netpipe to packet storm and now my site gets hit constantly
by people looking for it. So, I decided to write an actual site quickly.
Update 05/04/2006: I put a windows version of netpip up on the site. This is for all those who've asked for a windows version. It's just compiled with cygwin.
Update 01/21/2006: Not much, but I've added
apc-utils to the programs page. Check them out, just some handy little
things.
Update 11/27/2005: WOW! Ok, so it's been a
while. I'm sorry, I've been busy with fiance, and with work, etc. so I
haven't had time to update. However, I HAVE started working on a new
Opensource project. Check out Grooves THE GTK+ based linux
iTunes store client. That's a mouthful, I know, but it's awesome, and I
already have a bunch of code done for it (it's not fully functional or
anything). Check it out!
Update 03/30/2004: OK, this site is due for
a major overhaul. Don't worry...automated downloads, etc. won't break.
What will happen is for those people that like content, there'll be lots
of it, including content for Magic: The Gathering geeks, computer geeks,
and political ramblings for those interested. With the speed I update
though, don't be surprised if this stays around for a while :'(. In
other news, I'll be updating libnpconn soon. I'll fix some of the more
retarded bugs I've been seeing. It'd be cool to hear if anyone's used
npconn in their own programs. Anywho.. That's all for this quarter.
Site Update 12/20/2003: I realize I haven't
updated this in a while. I've been swamped with work. Thanks to everyone
who replied with comments about netpipe and what they're doing with it.
I actually do have people with real needs for it (IE: not script kiddies
looking to h4x0r j00). I've released libnpconn-0.1. There's a slight API
change but it doesn't entail much. I added a new parameter to senddata
and recvdata. Also, serial and file protocols are added for general IO.
All in all, worthwhile as 0.2 will feature some more advanced protocol
support including a raw protocol. Also, pics have been added. Obfuscated
C code called xmas.c which displays a nice holiday
greeting. I wrote this to show that I too can write obfuscated C code.
:D Netpipe 2.0 has also been released. It depends on libnpconn 0.1 and
the code is such that it may require some slight bug fixes here or
there. I haven't regression tested it. The reason I didn't was I needed
to get a release bumped out for Sourcemage linux (found at http://www.sourcemage.org).
Apparently, sourcemage has netpipe included in it's distribution (For
sourcemage users, cast NetPipe). Cool for me :DD.
Site Update 09/28/2003: OK, comming soon RC3
of libnpconn. RC3 will feature some awesome new enhancements like cross
compiling support, a Sniffing protocol, and the 2.0 release of Netpipe
:)
Site Update 09/16/2003: Fixed the broken
links. Also, RC 2 of libnpconn. Check it out. Supports Serial I/O for
all you terminal hounds. NOTE: Basic File I/O will be available soon.
Then libnpconn 0.1 will be released.
Site Update 09/15/2003: Woohoo!! RC1 of netpipe 2.0 is out as
well as RC1 of libnpconn. Check them out, they acutally work. :D pictures and papers soon.
Site Update 08/28/2003: Nope...no pictures uploaded
yet...one of those damned dcom worms has been tying me up a lot. Netpipe 2.0a
and libnpconn 2.0a are out there...that doesn't mean they're official releases,
they're just in a "developed" state. Use them at your own risk right now. More
can be found here.
Site Update 08/15/2003: Ok, so I haven't
released any "new" code for either netpipe or chamelion. That's because
I've done two things. 1) killed chamelion in it's current form and 2)
started on netpipe 2.0 tree. With netpipe I hit a snag with udp in that
I don't want to spend the time to fix in that horrible code. What I did
was take a lot of the chamelion code and place it in the brand new
library I'm writing called npconn. netpipe 2.0 will be the testbed for
libnpconn. so we'll see how it works. Other than that...the site went
down today due to the niagra power station failure. Look for pictures
and some even NEWER content hopefully by the end of the week.
Since I needed to put the site up quickly, I used
someone's template. I forget
who's. If someone knows who owns this template, email
me so that I can credit them. I'll probably get rid of this as soon as I have my
girlfriend or her sister actually use their extensive graphics knowledge to make
my site pretty.
I guess you'd actually like to get to the REAL site now. Well, to get to the netpipe
stuff, simply walk through this door
and you will instantly be transported to my programming work. Also, there's a minor C sockets
programming tutorial for the kiddies out there. You may learn something...or not. If you'd
like to see pictures of me, that's fine.
I may take them off of Brad's site so that he won't have a
damn lot of bandwidth being used.
Speaking of Brad's site, why not visit? I'm sure you'll
find something of interest to you. Plus, there's IRC, and free webmail from brad-x.com, so it's
well worth the visit. Just remember, irc.brad-x.com #chat is where you're most likely to find me
and a gang of assorted computer enthusiasts.
